Acai and Essential Fatty Acids

By admin | Aug 7, 2008

The  Acai berry originates from the Acaizeiro Tree, growing in the Amazon rainforest; commonly known as the “tree of life” by locals.  The Açaí berry is about the size of a grape and the color of a blueberry.

The Acai berry is know to be abundent in antioxidant power even more so than red wine. In addition,  the highly nutritious fruit contains the essential fatty acids Oleic acid (Omega 9) and Linoleic acid (Omega 6).

What makes Omega 6 and Omega 9 so vital?

These are crucial nutrients that your body needs yet is unable to create. That’s where your diet comes in.

Omega 6 Essential Fatty Acids are generally necessary for skin and hair growth, regulating metabolism, promoting movement of fatty acids from the liver to tissue and maintaining reproductive performance. Researchers believe that they also have an important role in reducing the risk of heart disease, cancer and stroke.

Omega 9 is a monounsaturated fatty acid thought to be essential for normal metabolism and found in large quantities of a healthy Mediterranean diet.

In order to ensure that your body receives these essential nutrients, you should include Acai in your diet. There’s no better way than by using daily supplements, and with a free trial available, you have nothing to lose.
